The Youth Matter, Arts Matter (YMAM) Summer Program is a free two-week youth enrichment and workforce development initiative designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities for young people ages 11–19 throughout Stockton and surrounding communities. Hosted in partnership with Stockton Juneteenth (San Joaquin Juneteenth Foundation – SJJF), the BMMAC Center, GO STEM, Hatching Chicks, LLC, and community partners, the program combines creativity, leadership development, technical training, and real-world experience through three engaging educational tracks: Film & Media Production, Culinary Arts & Hospitality, and STEAM Innovation & Graphic Design.

Release of liability before Submitting:

IN CONSIDERATION OF my child/ward being allowed to participate in any way in the SJJF Juneteenth YMAM Camp, related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:


Participants and parents/guardians acknowledge and grant permission for Stockton Juneteenth (San Joaquin Juneteenth Foundation – SJJF), the BMMAC Center, and authorized program partners to photograph, film, record, and capture audio and video during participation in the Youth Matter, Arts Matter Summer Program and related events. All photographs, video footage, audio recordings, student-created media projects, interviews, and other captured content produced during the program shall become the property of Stockton Juneteenth and BMMAC and may be used for educational, promotional, marketing, archival, social media, livestream, website, and community outreach purposes related to the program and organization activities. Participants and parents/guardians understand that all images and media will be used solely for non-commercial promotional purposes and will not be sold for profit or used inappropriately outside the scope of organizational promotion and documentation.


  1. FOR MYSELF, SPOUSE, AND CHILD, I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation; and,

  2. I willingly agree to comply with the program’s stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If I observe any unusual significant concern in my child’s readiness for participation and/or in the program itself, I will remove my child from the participation and bring such attention of the nearest official immediately; and,

  3. I myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SJJF, Victory In Praise Church, and The BMMAC Center; its directors, officers, officials, agents, employees, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to my child’s involvement or participation in these programs, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I, FOR MYSELF, MY SPOUSE, AND CHILD/WARD, HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
